I love you was so easy to say way back when,
It meant nothing to me and everything to you,
Just a three word lie I told,
So that we could get into a lip locked tongue fight.
I love you was so easy to say a few years ago
When I needed you here.
Just a lie that I told so that you would listen,
Because it was the only way youd stick around to hear me out.
I love you was so easy to say last Valentines Day,
When you expected me to.
A lie I told you and myself,
In hopes my first months wouldnt be spent alone.
I love you isnt so easy to say anymore,
Because it chokes me up every time.
Because now as it falls through my lips,
Usually as a whisper,
My voice shakes a little.
And I try and be still,
Try to stay calm,
Knowing this time I love you,
Is real.
